Drape Forming

Drape forming is the process in which hard sheet plastic is heated up in a batch oven and then “draped” over a desired mold. Supplemented with added pressure from weighted blankets, the then malleable plastic takes the shape of the mold. This is an effective solution for large, heavier gauge parts. Our batch ovens allow the length and width of parts up to 10’ x 5’. Further, the drape forming process also lends itself well to high quality transparancies. Pictured left is a green acrylic formed via the drape forming process. This part is used as the display shield for open topped grocery story refrigerators. Request for Quote today!
